Master of Arts in Peace Studies
The objectives of PSC are to promote the understanding of Peace in today’s Myanmar context, to introduce new skills in building peace and transforming conflicts, to enhance the knowledge of human rights and human dignity, to convince that violence is destructive not only to renounce violence but also to adhere nonviolent living, to propagate the idea of restorative justice and promote justice making society, to encourage general public to be aware of the concept of peace and its practicability through publication of peace studies in Burmese languages and to develop Peace studies Curriculum and thereby to establish Master’s program in Peace Studies.

Master of Arts in Peace Studies (MAPS) Program is one of the modular Programs of Liberal Arts Program in MIT. The program is conbination of 3 semesters of modular based coursework and 1 semester of research writing which cover 42 credits in total.

1. A bachelor degree from any Government University and /or Bachelor of Theology degree and above from any accredited theological Institutions.
2. Applicants shall take Entrance Examination for English language Proficiency
3. Those who pass entrance examination shell sit for personal interview
4. Candidate admitted for MAPS shall attend class Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for two semester each year (approximately 1st semester, October to March; 2nd semester, May to September) in accordance to LAP-MIT’s academic calendar for two consecutive academic years.
5. The classes of MAP program will begin on October in MIT.
6. Age limit for this program is 50 years and under
