Master of Arts in Interfaith Dialogue
Master of Arts in Interfaith Studies and Dialogue (MAID) will be offered starting from 2014 by the Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT) under the umbrella of Liberal Arts Program and managed by the Judson Research Center.
The aim is to improve interfaith relations based on mutual understanding, mutual respect, and mutual trust. JRC is serving not only as a resource center of education for interfaith studies, but also as platform for the scholars, religious leaders, theological students and young people from different faiths to develop dialogue, and actions to address the current issues for the betterment of our society.
Earn Your MAID Degree Program
Master of Arts in Interfaith Dialogue (MAID) Program is one of the modular Programs of Liberal Arts Program in MIT. The program is conbination of 3 semesters of modular based coursework and 1 semester of research writing which cover 42 credits in total.

Anyone regardless of religion, faith, age, race and gender who has the following criteria is eligible to apply for MAID Program:
1. Applicants must have at least a valid bachelor or equivalent degree
2. Applicants must submit two recommendation letters (one from financial guarantor, and one from the sending body or respective fields), Copy of Degree Certificate and transcript, updated medical records and two recent passport-size photos
3. Applicants must pass an entrance English test, Interfaith Knowledge test and Oral interview.
4. Applicants must be committed to promote interfaith harmony.
Due to the demand of the currently emerging interfaith groups, the JRC will implement a part time course, two times a year with two weeks per time. Human resource for the courses of MAID will be drawn from the expertise of all other religions and organizations.
- MAID is a two years program comprises of nine courses in four semesters.
- Course distribution will be 3 courses in two weeks time per semester and the last semester will be for the project research paper writing.
- Each course is comprised of 30 teaching hours in one semester time plus 8 hours fieldwork with the total of 48 hours.
- Field study will be included in each course, and one course must have 18 hours fieldwork.

Semester two: (Two weeks intensive course in May)
- Islam and Islamic Theology
- Christianity and Christian Theology
- Trauma Healing, Spiritual Dialogue & Counseling
Semester three: (Two weeks intensive course in October)
- Peace Building, Conflict Transformation
- Community Development
- Interfaith skills & designing Dialogue Project, facilitation of Interfaith Dialogue
Semester four: Project Research Paper
