Doctor of Ministry
Doctor of Ministry Program is to provide advanced theological education for persons who hold the Master of Divinity or its equivalent and who are engaged in the practice, mentorship, servant leadership, and scholarship that draws on spiritual and missional formation in both the practice of ministry and in the minster.
D.Min Program is a joint degree program of MIT with the Centre Baptist Theological Seminary,Kansas City ,USA,since 2010.The Doctor of Ministry program is a graduate level study, requiring 30 credits: 24 credits of course work with comprehensive examination and 6 credits for dissertation. The program is a three-year course and can be extended up to five years.
PURPOSE OF THE D. MIN DEGREE
The purpose of the Doctor of Ministry degree (DMin) is to provide advanced, contextual theological education and formation for persons who hold the Master of Divinity degree and who are engaged in the practice of ministry. The DMin program will emphasize the integration of theological reflection and practice, mentorship, servant leadership, and scholarship that draws on spiritual and missional growth in both the practice of ministry and in the minister.
The DMin degree has five primary goals:
- To build upon the foundation of the MDiv degree and substantial experience in ministry
- To increase understanding of the nature, purpose, and practice of ministry
- To improve skills for analyzing ministry setting and engaging in effective ministry
- To enhance the reflective integration of knowledge and skills in the practice of ministry
- To augment the spiritual development of the ministry
- Completion of the Master of Divinity Degree from MIT or an MDiv from a theological school accredited by ATESEA or Serampore Senate.
- A minimum of three years of fulltime ministry experience at the time of acceptance beyond the date when the Master of Divinity degree (or another theological master’s degree) was earned.
- Completion of an application
- Proficiency in English according to standards required by the MIT faculty.
- Four references attesting to the individual’s fitness for the program including: (a) A pastor or leader from the church of which the applicant is a member (b) Denominational or organizational director of the association, conference or organization to which he or she belongs (Certification of candidate’s 3 years experience in the ministry)
- A letter containing a statement of financial support
- Official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate including either government recognized degree or matriculation certificate)
- A personal statement reflecting the applicant’s background, theological perspective, values and goals for growth in the DMin program
- An interview with the DMin Committee
The DMin degree requires the successful completion of 45 credit hours.

- The last date for submitting application form is July 31, 2022 (Sunday – 4:00 p.m)
- Incomplete and late application submitted after application deadline will not be accepted.
- Date of entrance examination: August 12, 2022 (Friday), 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
- All documents must come together in one package.
