President’s Greeting for the Centennial Celebration 2027

Dear MIT Community, Churches, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Students, Partner Organizations, and Friends,
           Since its founding in 1927, Myanmar Institute of Theology has stood as a beacon of faith, scholarship, and service. As we are now approaching the 100th year anniversary in 2027, we stand at the threshold of a truly historic milestone—the celebration of our centennial.
         This sacred moment invites us first and foremost to give thanks and praise to God for His enduring faithfulness. For a century, MIT has nurtured generations of leaders devoted to the Gospel, committed to theological excellence, and engaged in the transformation of society in profound and far-reaching ways. We honor this rich legacy with gratitude and reverence.
           At the same time, this milestone calls us forward. It is an opportunity not only to preserve and celebrate our identity, legacy and values, but also to renew our shared vision—strengthening our commitment to Christ-centered teaching, deepening our academic excellence, and preparing wisely for the next century of ministry and scholarship. The future of MIT beckons with promise, and it is ours to shape together.
          Congratulations and a hearty thank you to all who have contributed to this remarkable journey of faith, learning, and service. Your faith, prayers, and dedication have brought us to this amazing landmark.
         I warmly and earnestly invite each of you—churches, alumni, faculty, students, partners, and friends—to take part in this once-in-a-century celebration. Your prayers, wisdom, creativity, and generous support are essential. Together, we can ensure that this centennial is not merely a commemoration of the past, but a powerful testimony to God’s work among us and a bold step into the future.
          Under the theme “Arise, Shine Our Light in the Darkness,” let us join hands in this historic 100th year, united in purpose and spirit, to create a celebration worthy of our heritage—one that will inspire generations to come and glorify God in all that we do.
